Why are we sensitive to metal

The solution is CLEAR!

  • Most inexpensive earrings are made of nickel. Reactions are not actually from the nickel itself, but from nickel salts, which form by sweat that comes in contact with the nickel. Allergies to nickel do not take long, they can form after very brief contact with the metal. Symptoms start as eczema-like (dry, itchy, red patches) and could be accompanied by small watery blisters.

  • An unfortunate 10-12% of the female population and 6% of the male population are affected by this allergy. Generally purchasing an earring made of pure gold, will solve the problem, but some of us, don't have the money to purchase solid gold earrings! Especially when they are for children.

  • A viable alternative is a plastic post. This blog is dedicated to providing fun alternatives to nickel posted earrings.
